Constanze Mozart
Constanze Mozart is a historical and biographical novel about a woman who through her marriage to firstly, perhaps the world’s greatest composer ever, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The years she spent as Mozart’s poor widow turned her into a shrewd businesswoman. She arranged concerts with Mozart’s music across most of Europe, even persuading Beethoven, the bright new star in Vienna, to participate at a concert. She drove a hard bargain with the publishing houses, she paid off Mozart’s debts, and she managed to sustain herself as well as her two children.
